In the wake of Hurricanes Harvey and Irma, hundreds of thousands of people had to evacuate from their homes in a hurry. As is often the case when disaster strikes, many animals were abandoned to face the storms on their own. They ran, they hid, and most of them survived the battering to face a new dawn, frightened and alone.

As the recovery efforts progress, many of these lost pets are beginning to be reunited with their families or have now found new homes with kind and loving strangers. Unfortunately, however, many more have been taken to shelters across Florida, Louisiana and Texas. As those shelters reach capacity, animals are now being moved to others around the country, including shelters and foster homes right here in Arizona. Even our very own, Dr. O’Sullivan, went to Texas to help by transporting animals in need back here to Arizona (read more here).
