Every human is an individual with different needs, and dogs are no different! Every dog enrolled in a Bark Avenue training course goes through a customized program, specifically designed for your dog and their needs, your goals, and what is best for everyone.

Dog Training in Mesa, AZ and beyond.

VACCINES: 

Dog Requirements: Distemper/Parvo, Rabies, Bordetella (kennel cough) vaccinations, as well as a recent Flea and Tick Treatment. Leptospirosis is also required for boarding and daycare services. Although not required, we strongly recommend the Canine Influenza vaccination.

Cost: $200

Age: 10 weeks and up

Class Length: Six week course that meets once a week for one hour.

Class Size: 10 dogs (minimum 3 dogs)

What’s Covered: This class is our foundation class for teaching the skills of sit, down, stays, wait at doors, impulse control, coming when called, walking on a leash, leave it, focus, home management skills and relationship building. You will learn how to create a great relationship with your dog using positive training techniques.

At the completion of the program, all dogs under a year old are eligible to earn the AKC STAR Puppy certificate.

Cost: $200

Prerequisite: For dogs who have graduated Beginner Life Skills or Instructor’s approval.

Class Length: Six-week course that meets once a week for one hour.

Class Size: 10 dogs, (minimum 3 dogs per class)

What’s Covered: If you don’t want all the formal obedience, then this class is for you. It’s a combination of obedience and tricks. We will work on CGC test items, incorporate games into recalls, loose leash walking, stays, and leave it.  This is a great class for motivating your dog and keeping obedience fresh and exciting.

Cost: $200

Prerequisite: For dogs who have completed Obedience with a Twist or Instructor approval.

Class Length: 6-week class that meets once a week for one hour.

Class Size: 8 dogs (minimum of 3 dogs)

What’s Covered: This class will cover all AKC Canine Good Citizen test items along with time stays, distance stays, distraction recalls, and formal heeling. On week six, we will hold a CGC test for all who want to participate. For those that pass, they will earn their CGC title or certificate.

Interested in competing with your dog?
Our Competition Obedience/Rally class can help you with your goals. From ring entrances to formal heeling and everything in between, this class will help you get ring-ready. All levels of AKC obedience and AKC rally will be covered.

Cost: $200

Prerequisite: Instructor approval.

Class Length: 8-week course that meets once a week for one hour.

Class Size: 4 dogs

Start date: Ongoing

Cost: $150

Age: 1 year or older

Class Length: 4 week course that meets once a week for one hour.

Class Size: 8 dogs (minimum 3 dogs)

FUNgility is an agility class all about building your dog’s confidence, while strengthening your bond along the way.

What’s covered: A-frame, dog walk, teeter, weave poles, jumps and the tunnel. (All obstacles will be kept at a lower height for safety).

Cost: $175

This four-week class focuses on loose leash walking and recalls. Each week, we will be working on the concept of walking at your side, and a variety of ways to teach the relationship-building exercise “come when called.” Prerequisite: Dogs most know leave it, focus and sit. Class size is limited to six dogs.

Prerequisite: Basic obedience.

Class Length: 4 weeks

Class Size: 4 dogs

Description: This class is geared towards owners and dogs earning their Canine Good Citizen, Canine Good Citizen Community, or Canine Good Citizen Urban. Classes will be held at different locations each week.

Our Private Lessons are designed around you and your dog’s needs. Each lesson is set and structured around what will ensure your dog’s success. It’s also a great alternative if you don’t feel comfortable in a class setting or if you are looking for targeted training.

Getting a new puppy and not sure where to start? Let us help you out!

Our Puppy Head Start is a one-hour private with just YOU, the pet parent. We will go over everything you could ever need to know to set your pup up for success. We’ll cover house training, crate training, puppy management, exposure/socialization, mouthing and more, to help develop a plan to make things easier on you and your puppy. On-site only.

Cost:$75

PLUS all Head Start enrollees get $25 off our Beginner Life Skills group training class!

Cost: $350

For both young puppies and adult dogs. For puppies, we will put all the foundation skills on your puppy. Sit, down, stays, wait at doors, impulse control, coming when called, walking on a leash, leave it, focus, and canine enrichment. For dogs, this is great for targeted training like loose leash walking, coming when called, or sit politely. Whatever your needs are we will try and help.

  • 5 full days of doggy daycare
  • 5 30-minute one-on-one training sessions.
  • Daily reports and videos when possible
  • 1 private lesson with Instructor.

Cost: $3,500 (4 weeks)
$1,800 (2 weeks)

Don’t have time to train your dog? We can help. Our Board and Train program is a great way to get your dog’s unwanted behaviors under control or to put the foundation skills on your dog. This program is tailored to you and your dog’s needs.

Your dog will learn, but not limited to:

  • Engagement & focus
  • Sit/down stay
  • Leave it
  • Walking on a loose leash
  • Wait at doors
  • Sit politely for petting
  • Coming when called
  • Place

Details:
4-week Resort Training stay includes 2 thirty-minute private lessons and a six-week group training class. Private lessons to be used within one month, and group class to be used within 4 months.

2-week Resort Training stay includes 4 thirty-minute private lessons. Private lessons to be used within 2 months.

Minimum Age: 6 months

$30 current clients, $50 for new clients.

We will work on the skills your dog needs to brush up on.

Cost: $450

This package is great for the puppy/dog who misses the start date of a class or just wants to get a jumpstart on training before the class starts. Maybe your dog isn’t quite ready for a class due to being overly excited. We would work on that issue and give you the skills needed to keep your dog focused on you.

This package includes four 30 minute private lessons and a six week obedience class. (This applies to our Beginner Life Skills or Obedience with a Twist.)

You may reschedule one private lesson only and classes must be used within two months of purchase.

Cancellation Policy

For private lessons, clients have the opportunity to reschedule twice for the six-lesson package, but anything over that, you lose a private lesson.

Meet Our Trainers

Michelle

Dog Trainer

Michelle is a Canine Trainer with over 19 years of extensive experience in teaching, encouraging and motivating people and their dogs. She is a true animal-lover with an excellent understanding of advanced dog training methodologies. She is well-versed in developing training plans for individual dogs and classes. She has been an AKC CGC and an AKC Fit Dog evaluator since 2007. She is a certified Fear Free Canine Trainer. She continues to take online/in-person training courses to keep up to date and to be able to add different tools to her training toolbox, since dog training is not a one size fits all. She is currently competing in AKC and UKC competition obedience, rally and Nosework with her Kerry Blue Terrier. She has put an AKC Preferred UDX along with a UKC Utility title on her Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier along with winning multiple High in Trials. Her Wheaten Terrier was also the first Wheaten to earn a Rally RACH tile. They also won the Rally Masters championship at the 2021 AKC Rally Nationals, being the first Wheaten Terrier to ever finish in first place at Rally Nationals. Training dogs is a true passion for her and she loves assisting dog owners in raising good canine citizens!
