Owner & Veterinarian

Dr. Ainsworth's Bio
My name is Dr. Ryan Ainsworth, I attended Arizona State University and received my undergraduate degree in Agribusiness with a pre-vet concentration in 2004. I then graduated from the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine in 2008 and went on to complete a 1-year internship in small animal medicine and surgery at the VCA Animal Referral and Emergency Center in Mesa. I started working in general practice in 2009 and in 2014 I decided to purchase my very first practice, Mesa Northeast Animal Hospital, I then went on to purchase Noe’s Ark Animal Hospital in 2016, and then purchased Bark Avenue Animal Hospital, Bark Avenue Pet Resort, and Bark Avenue Pet Supply in 2018. A very exciting time! I became interested in Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine (TCVM) and became a Certified Veterinary Acupuncturist in 2012. I am an integrative practitioner, meaning I practice both Western and Eastern medicine. I currently see dogs, cats, reptiles, and small mammals including ferrets and rabbits.

Dr. Candace Carson

Veterinarian
Dr. Carson's Bio
My name is Dr. Candace Carson. I graduated with a Bachelor of Science from Oregon State University in 1996. I then married my college sweetheart, who became a US Marine. I traveled with him to several states and military bases for a couple of years before attending Veterinary School and in 2003 where I received my Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Michigan State University. Initially, I worked at a small animal hospital in Mission Viejo, CA for a couple of years before moving to Arizona where I worked in Scottsdale for 10 years, then joined Bark Avenue in June of 2015. My interests in Veterinary Medicine are broad including behavior and pain management, internal medicine, general surgery, and dentistry. Many pets are anxious when visiting their Vet, so I prefer to take my time to let them get to know me. I often sit on the floor with dogs and cats, letting them sit in my lap (size permitting!). My husband and I live in the area with our 2 boys and 2 dogs. In my free time, I enjoy camping, hiking, reading, gardening and serving in the Children Ministry at my church. I look forward to meeting you and your pets!

Dr. Cindie Brown

Dr. Brown's Bio
My name is Dr. Cindie Brown. I was born and raised in Tucson, where I decided to be a veterinarian at the age of three. I received my Bachelor’s degree from the University of Arizona and then fulfilled my dream when I earned my veterinary degree from Colorado State University. I did a 1-year internship at a Mesa veterinary hospital and began working at VCA McCormick Ranch Animal Hospital in 2003 and Bark Avenue Animal Hospital in 2018. My areas of interest include chiropractic care, complementary medicine, surgery, chronic pain, feline medicine, and dermatology. In April of 2015, I was certified in veterinary medical acupuncture. My current pets include 1 dog: Jack, a slightly neurotic German Shepherd/Lab mix, and 2 cats: Stinky, a calico cat who was living in a parking lot before I rescued and brought home, and Crash, who was run over by a car and spent several years as a hospital cat. I also have an Arabian horse named Levi, I enjoy taking him to shows, on trail rides and he even pulls a cart. I love saltwater fish, gardening, growing orchids and last but not least, playing the harp.
